Château Monastique malt is an Aromatic Malt that is basical;ly a pale malt, toasted beyond normal. This process gives a strong nutty bread taste. Château Monastique malt has a bitter flavor, but mellows with age. Initially, the flavor can be quite intense. Château Monastique malt is typically added to Abbey Ales, Brown Ales, Porters and special beers such as a Belgian Trippel, and in a diverse range of British beers. Up to 10% of the mix.
